Hilltop Family Group
The Hilltop Hub Family Group is a weekly support group designed specifically for the families and carers of students attending across Campbell House School, Glenfield Park School and Ajuga School.
Each Tuesday between 10.00 am -12.00 pm families and carers are welcomed to our Hilltop Community Cottage, located on the grounds of Glenfield Park School, for a light morning tea, an opportunity to partake in wellbeing and educational workshops, as well as receive ongoing support in areas tailored and designed to cater for the needs of our families/carers.
Each session is hosted by our friendly Hilltop Community Liaison Officers (CLO's) and Project Officer and is often facilitated by experienced and qualified professionals who run short educational and wellbeing workshops.
If you would like to know more information, please regularly check the Ajuga Facebook and Sentral for weekly updates on sessions and how to reserve your spot.
Highlights from Family Group
Bunnings Leppington proudly supports our Hilltop Family Group each term, with their wonderful Activities Organiser, Antojia, leading engaging DIY workshops. Throughout the year, families have enjoyed creating terrariums, mosaic art, and Easter crafts, fostering creativity and connection. These community outings provide a fantastic opportunity for our families and carers to come together, learn new skills, and strengthen relationships beyond the school setting.
The Hilltop Family Group regularly engages in workshops that connect families with key school initiatives and programs, helping parents and carers gain a deeper understanding of what takes place across our Hilltop schools. These sessions provide valuable insight into how our educational approaches support student growth and wellbeing. For example, Andrew Kingsford-Smith recently led an informative workshop on the Critical Core program, highlighting its social and emotional benefits and offering practical ways parents can incorporate these strategies at home to support their children’s development.
Each term, the Hilltop Family Group takes part in a self-care workshop designed to promote wellbeing and connection. In 2025, participants experienced a sound healing session, an immersive activity that encouraged relaxation and mindfulness. Sound healing is known to reduce stress, enhance emotional balance, and support overall mental and physical wellbeing.
Each year, we offer parents and carers the opportunity to participate in a range of school-funded courses, including certified CPR training, as we recognise the importance of building confidence and skills that support the safety and wellbeing of our students and community.
To conclude the year, the Hilltop Family Group hosts a special End-of-Year Celebration, bringing together parents and carers to share a meal and reflect on the year’s journey. This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to connect, celebrate achievements, and express their thoughts on the activities and workshops they’ve enjoyed most. By sharing feedback and ideas, our families play a vital role in shaping the future direction of the Hilltop Family Group and ensuring it continues to meet the needs of our community.
