Glenfield Return to School Program
Welcome to the Glenfield Return to School Program (GRSP)
An intensive intervention for students in Grade 5 to year 12 who are on a long suspension and would benefit from support with a successful return to school.
The Glenfield Return to School Program aims to:
- provide a safe and structured school environment for students on suspension
- collaborate with students, their carers and schools and other stakeholders to support students with a successful return to school
- assist students to reflect on the events leading to their suspension, and the impact on the school and others
- provide intensive academic support so students remain up to date with their home school work during their suspension
- deliver targeted social-emotional learning, including learning about the brain, the crisis escalation cycle, deescalation strategies, and strengths learning to help change patterns of behaviour
- provide skills development opportunities and support for parents/carers
- suggest student behavioural and learning support strategies which can be implemented by home schools
