As Principal of Ajuga School, I am humbled and honoured to be part of such a dynamic and diverse community of learners. Ajuga School is more than just a place of learning; it is a community of passionate educators, curious students, and supportive families and carers working together to create rich pathways beyond our school.
Our team is dedicated to providing a well-rounded education that encompasses academic, social, and emotional growth. As a highly specialised educational setting, we are in the unique position to be able to tailor all of our programs towards our students' individual needs. Our programs are innovative, backed by evidence, and support the wellbeing and academic needs of our students. I am committed to working with our talented team of educators to ensure that every student at Ajuga School has access to the best possible educational opportunities.
Our school vision is to be recognised as a lighthouse setting for trauma responsive education, supporting our students to become confident, kind, and capable individuals who can make a positive difference in the world, whilst also building the capacity of our community of schools and colleagues to understand our approach and how it can support all students.
Our school fosters an inclusive, caring, and stimulating learning environment, underpinned by neuroscience and trauma responsive approaches, where every student feels safe and has space to explore the attributes of Courage, Connection, and Growth that form our Ajuga values.
Ajuga students are encouraged to be courageous by challenging themselves and taking risks in their learning. We believe that by stepping out of their comfort zones, they can discover their strengths and develop resilience, perseverance, and a growth mindset. Courage is the very first step in engaging in the Ajuga Way.
We emphasise the importance of connection, both within the school community and with the wider world. We believe that fostering positive relationships with peers, teachers, and the community is crucial for our students' social and emotional development. By learning to communicate effectively, collaborate, and empathise with others, our students can develop the interpersonal skills that are essential for their future pathway success.
Finally, we believe that our students have the potential for continuous growth and development. We aim to provide each student with opportunities to develop their skills, knowledge, and talents in a supportive and inclusive environment. We also encourage our students to reflect on their learning and set goals for themselves, so they can continue to progress and thrive.
I am confident that our shared commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and community will help us create a bright future for all Ajuga School students.
Yours in continued partnership
