Community Meetings

START OF THE DAY/MEETING

“How are you feeling?”

“What is your goal for the day (or meeting, or morning, etc.)?”

“Who can you ask for help?”

END OF THE DAY/MEETING

The first question is: “How are you feeling?”

The second question is: “What was your highlight of the day?”

The third question is: “What will you do for self-care?”

Community meetings are a tool commencing at Ajuga in late 2022. Adapted from the Sanctuary model toolkit, Community Meetings are a tool used to bring people together, they are in short a check-in with others and provide an opportunity before beginning the day (or beginning a meeting) and in the afternoon to connect with others.

As a starting point, the Community Meeting questions will be integrated acoss all small staff meetings.

At Ajuga our vision is that in supporting the Ajuga Way, we will enhance our TIE (trauma informed education) approach by providing opportunities for staff to effectively debrief and engage in self-care planning. Our hope is that by 2023, we can further extend this model to include our students to utilise the model with morning circle and afternoon reflections.

There are three key questions that each person should respond to, and each question offers an important experience and information for the group.
