Ajuga School Staff are passionate about developing their knowledge about supporting students with complex trauma and adversity. Below we have curated a range of resources that have helped us on our journey. We look forward to developing our own resources and sharing them in the future.
Professional Book Club
The Ajuga Professional Book Club explores a range of professional texts and uses these to discuss the latest knowledge and evidence-based research in neuroscience, complex trauma, and education. Some books present a range of lived experiences that are used as case studies, whereas academic texts are used to review our current practices and procedures.
Critical Readings
These documents have been integral to providing our staff with a comprehensive, research-based understanding of how trauma affects children and young people.
Collaboration with BSEM
All Ajuga School staff are trained in the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM). This training ensures all staff are empowered to increase engagement of students with complex trauma, unmet learning needs and to successfully improve their self-regulation, relationships, wellbeing, growth, and academic achievement.
